The Carleton University Association for Life-Long Learning started off as an informal group (FLLLOC) of people who had all been associated with the LLeaP (originally LinR) program. Although we understand the budgetary problems which have led to the closure of the program, we felt that it was so valuable for mature learners in Ottawa that we should look for ways to continue it. In February 2026 we were given a go-ahead by the Carleton administration to launch a mostly volunteer run replacement. Initially this is for the period of one-year, during which time Carleton will provide logistic support: in particular registration and fee collection will be done using the new student adminstration system. 

Our plans are to start in September 2026, with four 6-week courses. This will be followed by a further six courses commencing in October. As soon as the program becomes finalised we will add details here, and a link so that you can apply directly for admission. The lectures will be given in the library: depending on demand, they will also be available over Zoom.
