Who we are
The Friends of Life-Long Learning at Carleton is an informal group of people who have all been associated with the LLeaP (originally LinR) program. Although we understand the budgetary problems which have led to the closure of the program, we feel that it is so valuable for mature learners in Ottawa that we are looking for ways to continue it. You are invited to become a member by using the contact form below.
Information
- May 2025: We requested a meeting with Carleton's leadership to discuss ways in which Carleton could continue its Lifelong Learning program with volunteer support
- June 2025: We are drafting a survey of learners and potential learners to maximize the fit between what learners want and what a program can offer. We hope to make the survey available in June 2025.
- June 2025: we sent out a newsletter. If you don't already have a copy you can get it here
- July 2025: Well, a lot has been happening. We had a very positive meeting with the Provost: you can read about it in Newsletter 3
- September 2025: a survey of LLeaP participants is available here. If you haven't already taken it, please do so. We also had a second meeting with the Provost, and you can read about it in Newsletter 4 (available below)
